Hawaii

This year for spring break we were SOOOO lucky and my parents took my whole family to Kauai. We had such an amazing time. Each time I look at the pictures I wish I could go back.

Taylee hated the sand and this was one of the only times that she was smiling while she was in the sand.

The beach in front of our hotel.

Our awesome hotel we stayed in for one night before we went to the beach house my parents had rented. The kids loved that the pool had a waterfall you could swim under.

Summer '09

We had a lot of fun last summer we went on a couple trips to Wyoming and Utah. We enjoyed getting out of the Las Vegas heat and spending time with family. Here are some pictures from our summer activities.

Kinley Simming

We put Kinley in swimming lessons this summer. She loved it and was so cute. We spent a lot of time swimming this year and so she got really comfortable in the water. She absolutely loved swimming lessons and felt so big since she got to do something she has been watching Mason do. But of course the last day (the only time I brought my camera) she was being such a stinker. On the last day they let all the kids go down the big water slide. She had been so excited about this since they don't let any kids her size go down on open swim days. So swimming lessons was her only chance to go down. But for some reason on this day she was scared and refused to do her normal swimming lessons until the very end when I finally talked her into doing the slide. Which in the end she loved. But oh boy is this girl head strong. We butted heads for 30 mins. before she finally gave in. I used all sorts of bribery and she wouldn't give in to any of it. Girls are so different than boys. I could have easily changed Mason's mind but not Kinley. She is going to give us a run for our money as she gets older. I love the smile on her face after doing the slide.

Basketball

I am going to try and catch up on some really old post. So I can have a record of this these things that are to precious to forget.

Mason was finally old enough that we could put him on a youth basketball team. I think this is something that Chris has been dreaming of since we found out we were having a boy. He and Mason were so excited and counted down the days. We were really lucky and Chris was able to coach Mason's team. Mason thought it was super cool that he and his Dad had matching shirts. Every time they put them on he would just smile. They had practice and a game once a week for 8 weeks. Chris was a great coach and Mason did an awesome job. He scored quite a few baskets mostly for his team but a few for the other teams. Oh well a basket is a basket! That's what I love about this age. In a couple weeks he will start soccer and we can't wait!

Valentines Party

Kinley has been so excited for her party at school. She picked out valentines with butterfly tattoos. So I let her put some on before she went to school. She was so excited she just kept staring at herself in the mirror. She had such a great time at school she got to eat ice cream and all sorts of candy. What could be better?

New Puppy

I am still a little bit in shock that we really did it. We got a dog. Chris and I always said we would not get a dog until our kids got a lot older. But somehow we let the kids wear us down until we finally did it. Maybe it was the sweet prayers from Mason or the pictures of our family that they would draw plus the dog that we would get someday. Who can resist something like that. So we finally gave in. He is a Lab/Akita mix and we named him Cash. He has been a lot of fun and also A LOT of work, but the kids are in HEAVEN!!! They are having so much fun with him.

Swimming Lessons

I am trying to catch up on my blogging. I am SUPER behind on it so forgive me while I catch up.

This summer we put Mason and Kinley in swimming lessons. They both loved it and did awesome. They would both stay at the pool and swim all day if we would let them. They both made so much progress and Mason can now swim on his own and Kinley is getting braver and willing to try a lot more.
