T-Ball

Mason is doing his second season of T-Ball this year. He has been so excited to get started. Each day for the last couple weeks he has been asking me everyday "Mom, but do I just have a game today or is it tomorrow." For the last couple weeks I have been trying to explain to him that he had to wait 2 weeks. THANK GOODNESS the first game is finally tonight. He is so excited and already fully dressed for his game. Now he just has to wait 6 more hours until his game starts. Last week he had a practice night and he did really good. They had them practice fielding the balls and every time they would hit one to him he would run after it and right before he got to it he would throw himself down and slide for it. It never failed every single time he would do it. It was pretty funny. Kinley was so cute while he was practicing she would yell Yaaa Mason to him. Then every second she couldn't see exactly where he was at she would ask us a million times Where is Mason until we pointed him out. She definitely loves her big brother.

Play Dough and Bubbles

The weather has been amazing here. So we have been trying to enjoy it as much as we can before the summer heat hits. So the other day we decided to take our play dough outside and play. I have a love hate relationship with play dough and decided I really should let the kids do it more often and outside is the best place for it. Mason got a whole bunch of play dough for his birthday from one of his friends and the pack has a million colors in it. Kinley wasn't really sure what to do with all of it and I kept looking over just in time to see her sneaking little bites of it here and there. I think all of the bright colors just looked so good she couldn't resist. After that we moved on to bubbles and had so much fun. Mason decided that we needed to get on the tramp and I should blow bubbles and they could jump and pop them all. We had a lot of fun. The kids loved it and would hardly let me get off the tramp after more than an hour.

Happy Easter

We had such a great Easter. This year was a lot of fun. Mason was really excited and understood things a lot more this year. He had a Easter party at preschool and since then we have been practicing for about a week hiding eggs for each other and looking for them. So he could not wait for Easter. We woke up on Easter morning and the Easter bunny had left them their baskets and a few toys. He also left a note telling the kids he would come back and hide the eggs while we were at church. So when we came home the kids got to look for the eggs. They loved it. Mason was so excited he would just smile and laugh every time he found an egg. Kinley found about 5 or 6 eggs and then she just wanted to eat the candy out of all of them. She then saw some eggs on our tramp and once she got up there she just kept bouncing her eggs until one would split open and candy would go everywhere. She would then sit down eat the candy and start the whole process all over. She was so funny. But Mason was such a good brother and gave her some of the eggs that he found so that she could have more. Ever since then anytime one of his friends has come over he asks me if they can take a piece of his Easter candy home and then gives some to each of them. It is so cute that he would want to share with them. We then finished our Easter Sunday with Chris's famous BBQ Chicken and some other yummy food and then ended it with Chris's favorite banana cream pie. The weather was so nice we spent the rest of the evening hanging out outside. It was a great Easter at out house!!!!

Bed Time !!!!

For the last couple weeks Chris and Mason have started a new bedtime routine. We were talking about the Articles of Faith with Mason and he said that he wanted to learn them. So each night when Chris would lay Mason down in bed he decided to try teaching them to Mason. He started with the first one and Mason just loved learning it. In a couple of nights he had it memorized. So Chris decided to keep going. After a couple weeks he now has the first 5 articles of faith memorized and can say them on his own. We are both amazed at how fast he is memorizing them and at how much he loves them. Each night when we tell him to go get his pajamas on he starts telling Chris that he wants to work on his articles of faith. What is even cuter is that I don't have them memorized. So the other night Chris was gone at meetings and he told me he wanted me to teach him the articles of faith. As I was laying him down he couldn't figure out why I didn't know them. He then said the cutest thing. He told me It's o.k. Mommy when Daddy gets done teaching them to me I will teach them to you o.k. and then we will both know them. How sweet. What a great example he is to me. I love that little boy.

Messy Face

Lately Kinley loves yogurt and can't get enough of it. The other day she was eating some and she refused to give me the container when it was almost gone. She then put it up to her face trying to lick out any extras. I wasn't fast enough to get a picture of her licking it out but here is the end result. Too Cute!!

Little Miss Personality

We bought Kinley a pair of sunglasses and she absolutely loves them. The funniest part is that she insists on wearing them upside down. I think she likes the way they fit better that way. The second we get in the car she is reaching for them. Then when we get to a store it is a huge fight to get her to leave them in the car so that we don't lose them while we are in the store. Pretty much anytime we are outside she thinks that she needs them on. Both my kids got Chris's sensitive eyes. The second the sun hits their eyes they are squinting and saying the sun, the sun. So the glasses are a must in our family. While out running errands the other day Kinley refused to leave her glasses in the car. I finally realized it wasn't worth the fight so I let her take them in. So we go into Wal Mart and once we get inside she still doesn't take them off. The entire time we were in the store she wore them and then she started smiling and waving to every single person that we would pass. So here she sat in the shopping cart, glasses on waving to everyone. Everyone that walked by kept laughing and saying how cute it was. She kind of reminded me of a homecoming queen in a parade just sitting there waving the whole parade. That is our Kinley always thinking up something new. There is definitely no lack of personality or attitude with this little girl.

No Training Wheels

The last couple weeks Mason has been asking Chris to help him learn how to ride his bike like a big boy. He informed us that he is to big to ride a bike with training wheels and he no longer needs them. So Mason helped Chris take off the training wheels and away they went. We were so proud he did awesome. After a couple times of Chris running beside him he started doing it by himself. He finally figured out how to do the brakes without throwing his feet down and running with his bike to get it stopped. I guess once you take the training wheels off everything is new again. We are now just working on teaching him how to get started by himself. I couldn't believe that he did so well in such a short amount of time. I got a little to excited and started yelling and clapping and I think I distracted him a little and he almost wrecked. Woops. So I am going to have to hold in the excitement and praise until he is stopped. It was so fun to see him riding like a big boy as he puts it. I love seeing the excitement on his face as he accomplishes something new. Now I just need to go out and stock up on Band-Aids and Neosporin since I know there will be many wrecks as he gets it all figured out completely. I am trying to prepare myself for that part still. But I guess it's all part of learning and getting bigger.

It's A Girl !!!!!!!!

We went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and we found out that we are having a girl. We are so excited that we are going to have another girl in the family. We are starting to prepare ourselves for the fights over clothes and all those things that sisters fight about. But I am so excited I know I love having a sister who is also my best friend. I hope that our two girls will be best friends also. Mason is also so excited he keeps telling us that he is going to have two sisters he now has to teach how to play basketball, baseball, football, etc. He is also great at giving us suggestions on what to name her. Some are really creative. I think a few aren't really even words but he seems to like them. I am all about unique names but I don't think Chris will go for names like Niha and Mala. (those are just a few of the crazy suggestions) Last night he told me Aspen which I have always liked. He has my vote for that one but we'll see what Chris thinks. Who knows right now what the name will be. The one thing we know is that we can't wait for our new sweet baby to join our family in July.

Perfect Spring Day

Saturday was one of those beautiful spring days. Here it is the beginning of March and it was in the 70's . It is those days that make me love living in Vegas. Here we are out enjoying the weather when most of our friends and family are still buried in snow. I have to remember days like Saturday when the summer heat rolls around and I am wondering why we live here. Chris was able to do yard work and had a little help from the kids when they weren't riding bikes, jumping on the tramp and climbing in our trees. We finished the day off with our first BBQ and angel food cake with strawberries. It was one of those days you never want to end.

They Grow Up So Fast

Since I am just figuring out how to do all this everyone will have to forgive me. I thought I would post some recent pictures of our kids. It is amazing how fast they grow up. It seems like just yesterday Mason was just a baby. Then you blink and he is already 4 1/2 and Kinley is going to be 2 in April. What a blessing they have both been to us. They make everyday exciting and entertaining.

Mt. Charleston Trip

Sorry for the old pictures Chris was trying to help me figure out the blogging thing. Last summer we had a chance to go hiking up at Mt Charleston. It was over 100 deg. at our house and by the time we got to the mountains the temperature had dropped 40 degrees. It was great. We had so much fun getting out of the city and being back in the mountains. The kids loved it and had so much fun running around. Of course a big storm rolled in and we were totally unprepared. It is impossible to think about sweatshirts and jackets when you are sweating to death just loading up the car. We definitely found our getaway when the summer weather just gets to hot.
